Henderson State Bank is seeking an experienced Wire/ACH Lead to join our team at the Henderson Branch.
This position will coordinate and oversee the daily activities of ACH and wire processing, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. The Wire/ACH Lead will also assist with complex issues and discrepancies, train and develop team members, ensure staff remain current on regulatory requirements and operational procedures, and serve as a subject matter expert in ACH and wire processing.
Qualifications:
• 3–5 years of banking experience
• Experience in bank operations, payment processing, or treasury services
• Knowledge of ACH and wire transfer systems
• Understanding of banking regulations and compliance
• Experience with fraud prevention and detection

It's not quite Fraud Friday yet, but HSB has currently seen scammers targeting local customers, in which fraudsters are impersonating area bank employees.

Scammers are using information available through public records, including information from Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans, to make their calls sound legitimate. They may spoof a bank phone number and use the name of an actual loan officer or branch manager.

The caller may claim there is suspicious activity on your account or that someone is attempting to cash a large check written from you. They may then:

-Ask for account or personal information
-Send a text or email with a link and ask you to click “decline” the payment
-Ask you to log in to "online banking"

It is important to note that caller ID is NOT proof that the call is from your bank. Scammers can make their calls appear to come from legitimate bank phone numbers.

KNOW THESE TWO THINGS:

1. HSB does not make these types of calls or texts.
If we contact you about your account, we will verify your information before discussing account details.
2. When in doubt, hang up and contact us directly.
Use the phone number listed for your HSB branch on our website, hendersonstate.bank/locations, NOT a number provided by the caller.

A FEW KEY TAKEAWAYS:
-Do not click links sent in text.
-Never give a caller your online banking password or security code.
-Do not allow the caller to pressure you into acting immediately.
If something doesn't feel right, hang up and contact your bank directly.
Scammers may know your name, business information, or other details about you from publicly available records. That does not mean the call is legitimate.

Growing More Than a Garden in Big Springs! 🌻
The HSB Big Springs Branch has been a busy place the past couple of weeks, mainly because of our Big Springs Community Garden!
Big Springs Public Library has started a Friday Kids Reading Program for children of all ages, and the garden has become a fun extension of that learning!
A few weeks ago, the kids read about insects and then headed across the street to the garden to see how many they could identify. Last week, HSB provided popcorn for the reading program, welcoming 24 kids. Today, the group gathered once again to spot Monarch butterflies stopping in the garden for nectar as they make their way south for migration. Next week, they’ll be on the lookout for even more bugs, and in a few weeks, they’ll gather flowers to press and turn into window decorations.
And the fun doesn’t stop there! Once the garden freezes, sunflowers will be cut and placed in boxes at the post office and HSB for anyone who would like them to feed the birds. Pumpkins and Indian corn will help decorate downtown businesses, and community members have already shown interest in collecting flower seeds for their own gardens.
