Prior to that I worked in insurance and financial planning. It was actually the financial planning work that led me to the mortgage industry. During that time period everyone we put a financial plan together for despera
tely needed to refinance and we had no one to refer them to. Shortly thereafter, I started as a loan officer for a small brokerage in Scottsdale and later helped establish a mortgage brokerage within a Real Estate Office. Over the years, I have completed just about every type of real estate loan there is, from residential to commercial and almost all completely by referral. The opportunity of working hand in hand with Realtors taught me a lot. It taught me the importance of closing on time, setting realistic expectations, thoroughly qualifying our customers, making sure they understand the loan process and what will be expected from them. I learned the importance of providing excellent service to each and every customer. It also taught me the importance of working with first time home buyers and the extra level care and education they require. I have always felt that teaching is a large part of my calling both at work and in the various volunteer ministry work I have done for over 30 years. I graduated from Word of Faith Bible College in the early 1980s and for the last few years my wife and I have been leading the Celebrate Recovery at Dream City Church in Phoenix. We have three grown children and now three grandchildren. I actually had the pleasure of performing each of their wedding ceremonies. When Churchill decided to open a branch in Phoenix, I was delighted to be a part of that.
