The IIAM represents over one hundred independent insurance agencies and branches. Our members are small businesses that employ nearly one thousand Montanans in communities throughout the state. On the national level, IIAM is affiliated with the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America, Inc. (PRIM) is a for-profit corporation formed by the Independent Insurance Agents' Association of Montana to conduct the business of the wholesale and retail sales of products and sale of services. PRIM provides management services for the Independent Insurance Agents’ Association of Montana, The Montana Surplus Lines Agents’ Association, and the Montana Insurance Education Foundation. IIAM owns 100% of the outstanding stock of PRIM.

+The Montana Insurance Education Foundation (MIEF) is a nonprofit corporation established by the IIAM to encourage and develop insurance education within the State of Montana. MIEF provides the following services:

+The Mountain Plains Alliance (MPA) is a strategic alliance of the Montana, Alaska, North Dakota, and Wyoming independent insurance agent associations.
