🚨 Friendly reminder: Binder payments are due by the 17th 🚨

If you recently enrolled in a health plan and haven’t made your first payment yet, this part matters more than people realize.

👉 No binder payment = no active coverage
👉 Coverage does not start just because you enrolled
👉 Missing the deadline can mean starting the process all over again

If you’re unsure whether your payment was made, processed, or applied correctly—check now, not later.

Questions? Confused emails from the carrier? This is exactly the stuff I help untangle.

🧠 Pro tip: Set a reminder. Insurance doesn’t forgive “I thought I already paid.”

📬 Tax season housekeeping reminder

If you purchased health insurance through an official marketplace like Connect for Health Colorado in 2025, your IRS Form 1095-A is on its way.

You’ll need this form to file your federal taxes.

What to know:

📅 Forms are mailed by late January to the address on file

💻 You can also find it in your online account under My Documents

📂 Keep it with your other tax forms—you will need it

If your form doesn’t arrive or something looks off, reach out. This is exactly the kind of thing I help clients navigate so it doesn’t turn into a tax-time headache.

If Open Enrollment came and went faster than expected—take a breath.

Missing the deadline doesn’t automatically mean you’re out of options. The rules are nuanced, and assumptions are expensive.

If you want clarity instead of guesswork, let’s talk.

One thing I want people to know is that you don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out about health insurance.

Most of the conversations I have start with questions, uncertainty, or “I’m not even sure what I’m asking.” That’s normal.

My job isn’t to pressure anyone into a plan — it’s to help you understand your options so you can make a decision that actually fits your life.

If you’re feeling unsure or overwhelmed, that’s usually a good place to start the conversation.

Thinking ahead about health insurance costs after 2025?
You’re not alone — a lot of people are wondering what premiums might look like in 2026 and beyond now that enhanced subsidies have expired.

One helpful planning tool is a calculator from KFF that models how premiums could change based on things like income, household size, and age.

A few important things to know before using it:

• This is a scenario tool, not a quote
• It does not replace Marketplace determinations
• It’s meant to help you understand ranges and possibilities, not predict your exact cost

The goal isn’t to panic — it’s to plan. You don’t need to wait for a notice in the mail to start understanding how changes might affect you.

If you want help reviewing your specific situation or interpreting what you’re seeing, I’m always happy to walk through it with you.

⏰ Reminder:
The deadline for a 2/1/26 health insurance start date is 1/15/26.

If you’re unsure whether this applies to you, that’s exactly when to ask.

No pressure. No obligation. Just clarity.

When the bill hits harder than expected…

One of the most frustrating parts of healthcare is that prices can vary wildly for the exact same service. Same test. Same scan. Same town. Very different numbers.

Unlike almost everything else we spend money on, healthcare rarely shows you the price up front. Most people do not realize that when care is non-emergent, shopping around can make a meaningful difference.

This is not about cutting corners or skipping care. It is about understanding that pricing is inconsistent, opaque, and often disconnected from quality.

The more we talk about this, the less power surprise bills have. And yes, you are not imagining it if a bill ever made you stop and reread it twice.

Awareness is the first step. Support and education come next.

Wishing you a peaceful and restful holiday season.

However this time of year looks for you—joyful, quiet, busy, or complicated—I hope you’re finding moments of ease and connection. 🤍

I’ve had a lot of conversations lately about denied claims, managing a chronic condition, confusing medical bills, and health insurance not working the way people expected.

I started a small, private Facebook group focused on education and peer support around health insurance issues. It’s not plan shopping and not a sales thing—just a space to learn, share experiences, and connect with local experts to better understand how the system works when something goes wrong.

If this would be helpful to you or someone you care about, you’re welcome to join or pass it along.
