Why does it seem like your tire pressure light always come on in the moments that you're jumping in the car and are already running late? And all you can think is why now?
Now there are lots of different reasons why your tires could be loosing tire pressure, weather is likely the cause of your frustration. When the temperature drops, the air in your tires condenses causing the pressure to drop and the light to come on! Tire pressure can decrease about 1 PSI (pounds per square inch) for every 10 degrees the temperature drops.
But why is your tire pressure being correct important? Tire Pressure adversely affects handling. It can affect the tread of your tire, the tire's responses to the drivers steering and the handling of the tire on the road when braking.
So, while we know it is tempting to just ignore this notification and continue on with your day, DONT! Tire pressure is crucial to keeping you safe of the roads! So make sure if that light turns on, you get your tire pressure corrected!
