Brooklyn-based composer and violinist Sana Nagano (.nagano) is known for her distinctive approach to violin playing, blending chaotic improvisation with restrained precision. Formally trained in both jazz and classical traditions, she pushes beyond genre boundaries through projects including Astroturf Noise, Anime Mundi, Peach and Tomato, Veer Quartet, and her latest electrified avant-math quartet, Atomic Pigeons.

Using a handcrafted six-string electric violin from ETJ Violin alongside a 2002 acoustic violin made by Simona Ferrari in Cremona, Italy, Sana combines classical technique with FX-driven experimentation to create carefully crafted, one-of-a-kind sounds for every performance and recording.
