Have you ever borrowed money before? The government is no different, some of us actually have 10 times the amount of debt from our actual income. Example? The mortgage.

I like to think of our government's debt like a mortgage. 2022 estimated 4.9 trillion and we only owe 31 trillion. It's like me having a $49,000 income a year and having a $310,000 mortgage.

What’s causing this rosy outlook? Drawing upon experiences in the United States and other developed countries, some media and market watchers are anticipating what they call “revenge spending”—pent-up demand and accumulated savings after three years of COVID lockdowns leading to a tide of Chinese consumer spending that will lift all boats. This week the US Department of Energy announced a milestone in the development of fusion energy. For the first time, scientists successfully used a nuclear-fusion reaction to generate 50% more energy than what was required for its creation — aka "net energy gain" — paving the way for sustainable clean power.
