Today is National Laundry Safety Day!! 🧦 We wanted to share with y’all some quick safety tips.

1. Keep It Clean🫧
• Regularly clean dryer ducts and vents, especially if you have pets or a large family.
• Use appropriate cleaners for your washing machine to prevent buildup.
• Empty the lint trap after every load and deep clean it every six months.

2. Perform Regular Checks☑️
• Replace plastic dryer ducts with metal ones to reduce fire risk.
• Ensure proper airflow around the dryer by keeping the area clutter-free.
• Inspect the exterior dryer vent for blockages like leaves or nests.
• Replace washing machine hoses every 3–5 years to prevent leaks.

3. Safe Storage Practices🔒
• Store detergents and cleaning products in their original containers, out of reach of children and pets.
• Keep a fire extinguisher accessible in the laundry area.
• Post the poison control center’s number in case of emergencies.
• Secure laundry chutes and machine doors to prevent accidents involving children.
