So what is the US and China tariff reductions mean to me and you? Well, the US is going to temporarily reduce import tariffs on toys, sports equipment and household goods (est at $30 billion) and China will temporarily reduce import tariffs on U.S. meat, seafood, dairy, grain, medical equipment, and coal (est. at $30 billion).

For you and me, it means cheaper holiday gifts as there will no longer be import tariffs to pass on to our holiday spend. Secondly, those companies and employees in the meat, seafood, dairy, grain, medical equipment and coal should see increased sales which hopefully translates into solid employment opportunities and workplace "bonuses".

So while this deal is clearly laced with gimmicks to make voters feel better, there may be a real difference in our wallets because of this deal that is of course if the price of oil settles down as well.

China and the United States have agreed to reduce tariffs on $60 billion worth of trade after President Xi Jinping's state visit to America.
