As part of our Financial Literacy program, Virtus recently delivered the first of three presentations to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford, CT (BGCH) at the Northwest Club in Hartford. The session, held on March 10, centered on interactive, hands-on learning, including a game of Monopoly, to help members understand the building blocks of managing their financial futures.

Through engaging activities and discussion, the program introduced key financial concepts such as creating a budget, tracking personal income and expenses, setting financial goals, and planning for unexpected expenses, skills designed to support long-term financial confidence and decision-making.

Virtus has partnered with BGCH since 2021, supporting its mission to help young people achieve academic success and workforce readiness. We’re proud to continue this partnership and look forward to the next two sessions as we help equip the next generation with practical financial knowledge.

On July 10, Virtus’ Hartford-based summer interns spent a day volunteering with Fidelco Guide Dogs in Bloomfield, CT. Each year, our interns spend a day working with a local organization and this year chose to support Fidelco, a recognized leader in the guide dog industry, with a mission of breeding and training German Shepherd guide dogs and placing them with clients across North America who are blind or visually impaired.

Thank you to the staff at Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation for hosting us and to our interns for all their hard work.

As part of Virtus’ Financial Literacy program, we recently hosted members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford, CT (BGCH) at our corporate office in Hartford.

The program on May 6 focused on the basics of investing, including an overview of the stock market, the various types of investment vehicles, and the benefits of saving and investing over time. Virtus employees and BGCH members engaged in group exercises, including a simulated stock market game and financial “Jeopardy,” designed to help the members prepare for their financial futures.

Virtus has been a corporate partner of BGCH since 2021, providing support for BGCH members to achieve academic success and workforce readiness.

As part of Virtus’ Financial Literacy program, we recently provided the second of three presentations to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford, CT (BGCH) at the Samuel S. Gray Jr. Club at Asylum Hill.

The program on March 4 focused on the basics of banking and credit, including the pros and cons of borrowing, the impact of interest rates on spending, and factors that affect credit scores. Virtus employees and approximately 20 BGCH members engaged in various group exercises designed to help the members prepare for their financial futures.

Virtus has been a corporate partner of BGCH since 2021, providing support for BGCH members to achieve academic success and workforce readiness.

Virtus recently delivered a Financial Literacy program to approximately 20 members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford, CT (BGCH) at the Samuel S. Gray Jr. Club at Asylum Hill.

This was the first of three financial literacy sessions for BGCH members over the next several months. The program focused on financial basics, including creating a budget, tracking personal income and expenses, setting financial goals, and managing unexpected expenses. Other activities included interactive group budgeting exercises designed to help the members prepare for their financial futures.

Paddles Up! Virtus recently sponsored an employee team in the Riverfront Dragon Boat & Asian Festival held in Hartford. The festival celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) cultures through traditional music and dance, hands-on arts activities, food, and martial arts.

The Virtus team, sponsored by the AAPI Employee Resource Group, competed with over 35 teams in 500-meter dragon boat races on the Connecticut River as part of the festival.

Virtus recently provided a Financial Literacy program to approximately 25 members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford, CT (BGCH) at their Asylum Hill Clubhouse.

The program featured a presentation that focused on financial basics, including creating a budget, tracking personal income and expenses with the 50/30/20 Rule, setting financial goals, and managing unexpected expenses. Other activities during the program were interactive group budgeting exercises with planning for family goals, saving for a car, and budgeting as a recent college graduate and a young working professional.

Virtus recently participated in Hartford Promise's Career Fest. The inaugural career fest, held at the Trinity Innovation Center in downtown Hartford, was designed to connect early-career diverse students with employers throughout the area.

Over 300 Hartford Promise Scholars, representing various academic disciplines including tech, finance, healthcare, and liberal arts were in attendance as well as more than 40 leading organization from throughout the Greater Hartford area.
