One of my favorite parts of helping people with Medicare isn't enrolling them in a plan—it's helping them understand how their coverage actually works.

I've met so many people who assumed they were fully covered, only to be surprised by out-of-pocket costs or services they thought Medicare would pay for.

A little education today can help prevent a lot of confusion later.

Whether you've been on Medicare for years or are just getting started, don't be afraid to ask questions. Medicare can be complicated, and you shouldn't have to figure it out alone.

If there's ever something you're unsure about, feel free to send me a message. I'm always happy to point you in the right direction.

🧐 Medicare Myth or Fact?

"Once you're enrolled in Original Medicare, all of your healthcare costs are covered."

❌ Myth.

While Original Medicare provides valuable coverage, it doesn't pay for everything. Many beneficiaries are still responsible for deductibles, coinsurance, and services that Medicare doesn't routinely cover.

That's why it's so important to understand your coverage before you're faced with unexpected medical bills.

👇 Before today, did you think Original Medicare covered everything?

Comment "Myth" if you knew the answer or "I learned something new!" if this surprised you.

Did you know Original Medicare doesn't cover everything?

This is one of the biggest surprises I hear from people who are new to Medicare.

Original Medicare (Parts A & B) helps cover many hospital and medical services, but it still leaves you responsible for certain costs, such as deductibles and coinsurance. It also doesn't typically include coverage for:

👓 Routine vision care
🦷 Routine dental care
👂 Routine hearing care
💊 Most outpatient prescription drugs

That's why many people choose additional coverage, such as a Medicare Supplement plan, a Medicare Advantage plan, or a standalone Part D prescription drug plan, depending on their individual needs.

The most important thing is understanding what your current coverage does—and doesn't—include before you need to use it.

Have questions about your Medicare coverage? I'm always happy to help you understand your options.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is people assuming they have to wait for Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period before asking questions about their coverage.

The truth is, learning about your Medicare options doesn't have to wait until October.

Whether you're happy with your current plan, curious about a recent life change, or just want to understand how Medicare works a little better, it's never too early to ask questions.

My goal is to help people make informed decisions—not pressure anyone into changing plans.

If Medicare has ever left you scratching your head, send me a message. I'm always happy to help you understand your options.

🧐 Medicare Myth or Fact?

"You can only change your Medicare plan during AEP."

❌ Myth.

Many Medicare beneficiaries may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, which can allow them to make changes outside of the Annual Enrollment Period if they experience certain qualifying events.

How about you—had you heard of a Special Enrollment Period before today?

👇 Comment "Yes" or "No" below. I'd love to see how many people know this Medicare rule!

Think you have to wait until October 15 to change your Medicare plan?

Not always.

While the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) is the most well-known time to make changes, some people qualify for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) that allows them to switch plans outside of AEP.

You may qualify if you've:
✅ Moved to a new area
✅ Lost other health coverage
✅ Qualified for Medicaid or Extra Help
✅ Moved into or out of certain care facilities
✅ Experienced another qualifying life event

Every situation is unique, which is why it's important to review your options before assuming you have to wait.

If you're unsure whether you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, feel free to reach out. I'm always happy to answer questions and help you understand your Medicare options.

Healthcare decisions aren’t always just about what you need — sometimes it’s also about how your plan works.

Understanding that ahead of time can make things smoother when you actually need care.

Myth: If your doctor recommends something, it’s automatically covered.

Not always.

Some services may still require approval depending on your plan.

Have you ever run into this?
