Cold Weather Is Coming. A Few Simple Steps Can Save You a Big Headache.

With extreme cold and heavy snow in the forecast, now is a good time to take a few quick steps to protect your home. Let faucets drip slightly to keep water moving, open cabinet doors under sinks so warm air can circulate around pipes, and make sure garage doors are closed. If you have exterior spigots or hoses still connected, disconnect and cover them. Set your thermostat to stay consistent day and night, even if you are away, and check that vents and exhaust pipes outside are clear of snow. These small precautions can help prevent frozen pipes, water damage, and unexpected repair costs during the cold stretch ahead.
