“I literally coach people on confidence, but I’m a little ashamed to admit that…”
1. I spent years comparing myself to stylists who seemed more creative than me, convincing myself I wasn’t talented enough to belong behind the chair.
2. I almost let fear talk me out of my dream—I watched other stylists create amazing work and convinced myself I wasn’t talented enough to do what they were doing.
3. I’ve encouraged other people to believe in themselves while privately struggling to believe in myself.
4. I’ve put off things I knew I needed to do because I kept waiting until I felt more prepared, more confident, or more qualified to start.
5. I’ve had great ideas and overthought them—planning, changing, and second-guessing them so much that some never made it past the idea stage.
6. I’ve delayed things I wanted to do because I worried about how people would judge me if I tried publicly and it didn’t work.
7. I’ve had a plan for my business and still struggled to consistently show up, post, and promote myself.
8. I’ve helped other people recognize their value—their gifts, experience, and what they could offer—while going home and questioning whether my own experience was valuable enough to build something from.
I’m learning to stop waiting for permission, perfection, or the perfect time. I’m surrendering the need to know exactly how everything is going to work before I take the first step.
Maybe you’re where I was at 37—wanting something more but questioning whether you have what it takes. If that’s you, I hope this journey reminds you that you’re not alone, and I’d love for you to follow along.
