February reminder.... Winter Safety Matters

As winter weather piles up, it’s important to keep propane and oil furnace vents clear of snow and ice to reduce fire and carbon monoxide risks. Shovel sidewalks to maintain safe access, and remove heavy snow from roofs to help prevent ice dams and structural damage.

This time of year we also see many frozen pipe situations. It is important to be sure you are on autofill with your fuel supplier but also take preventative action as there are many smart devices that can alert you of freeze ups, water leaks, furnace failures and more.

Don't forget to check the status of your fire extinguishers, clean those chimneys, and check your smoke and carbon batteries... A little prevention goes a long way in protecting your family and home during the winter months.

Have a safe and happy 4th!

Every year, people — especially children — are injured by sparklers and fireworks, sometimes with devastating consequences. With Independence Day just around the corner, keep these facts in mind:

🔥 Sparklers can burn at over 1200°F — hotter than melted glass.�
🚫 In Vermont, consumer fireworks are prohibited for sale to anyone under 18 and require permitting for public displays.�
📍 In New Hampshire, laws vary by town, but anyone under 21 is prohibited from purchasing or using fireworks.�
👀 Always supervise children around any type of sparkler or smoke novelty.�
🧯 Keep a bucket of water or hose nearby in case of fire or malfunction.
