Belen Krabbe owner of Franklin Financial Services placed the highest bid in a competitive live auction for the 2022 Queen Trophy, donated by Christensen Jewelry at the Franklin County Fair Board Dinner/Show on February 25th. Franklin Financial Services will have their name engraved on the trophy and they will showcase it in their business until they present it to the queen at the 2022 Franklin County Fair Queen Coronation Ceremony.
Belen Krabbe is a Holistic Financial Advisor with 38 years of experience helping clients plan more and worry less about their financial goals. She is a Certified Financial Fiduciary and a graduate of The American College, holding seven designations including a CAP, CLU, ChFC, CASL, RHU, REBC and one designation from the National Association of Life Underwriter, LUTCF.
Belen continually pursues her education and has also achieved Master Elite status with the Ed Slott Elite IRA Group. Belen states that “Everyone wants to make as much money as possible… and while other firms primarily chase returns, sadly, most neglect tax management. The truth is…not all money is taxed the same…. In the end…. it’s not about how much you earn, it’s about how much you get to keep. I agree with Judge Learned Hand-Helvering who said “Anyone may so arrange his affairs that his taxes shall be as low as possible; he is not bound to choose that pattern which will best pay the treasury; there is not even a patriotic duty to increase one’s taxes”. It’s very rewarding for me to know I can provide quality insurance and portfolio management through a process for my clients that is in their best interest. For more information on our process, you can read, “The Bucket Plan” by Jason Smith.”
Belen and her husband Paul have five children, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandson. She is the President Elect for the Hampton Kiwanis Club, and leads the Praise and Worship Ministry at Dayspring Assembly of God in Belmond. They enjoy traveling, especially on Missions trips around the world and has made over 50 crocheted shalls for her Prayer Shall Ministry. Belen looks forward to the parade and fair every year and was very happy to be able to support the fair with her winning bid.
Franklin County Fair Board President, Jon Baltes and his wife, Nadine Baltes are so thankful for the generous support of Belen Krabbe and Franklin Financial Services. Her generosity will greatly enrich the Franklin County Fair. Franklin County is one of the few counties in Iowa where the Queen receives a scholarship, trophy, and other generous gifts. The runner-ups also receive fabulous gifts. Nadine remembers one of the queens telling her she ate her breakfast cereal out of her crystal trophy.
Talking with the 2019 Franklin County Fair Queen, Jennie Barkema who shared her feelings on her experience as queen and the significance of the trophy. “For me, it is a reminder for not only what I was able to accomplish, but all of those supporting me through it. I have set up my crowns, sashes, and photos from state and county fair all around it to remind me how lucky I am to have had the opportunity. Not to mention it is beautiful. It is so beautiful yet meaningful that I will forever treasure it.”
Kirsten Suntken, the current Franklin County Fair Queen has dreamed of this moment since a child, “As a little girl I always attended queen coronation and one of the things that always caught my eye was the trophy. Never would I have thought that one day I would get one. I am honored to represent a county that is so generous with donations and sponsorships.
The 2022 Franklin County Fair Queen Coronation will take place Thursday, July 14th. Call the fair office at 641-456-2049 for more information about the Franklin County Fair.
