y in Hamilton, Goolsby Insurance Agency and Winfield Insurance Agency in Winfield, Homer Cody Insurance Agency in Red Bay, The Blake Insurance Agency and Thrasher Insurance Agency in Haleyville. currently had office locations in Haleyville, Hamilton, and Winfield and enjoys a balanced mix of business with 65% in personal lines, and 35% in commercial lines. The written premium volume for the agency has grown to over $7,500,000 annually. Through experience and progressive management the agency has become the largest independent insurance agency in Marion and Winston counties and one of the largest in Northwest Alabama.

Ricky Alan Sims, 73, of Hamilton passed away Friday, January 2, 2026 at the North Ms. Medical Center in Tupelo.
He was born on November 11, 1952 in Marion County to the late ET Sims and Ruby Nell Frederick Sims. He had worked in the Insurance Business for 46 years. He was a loving Husband, Father and Poppa.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday January 12th,2025 11:00 until Service time beginning at 1:00 at First Baptist Church.
Survivors include, Wife: Jackie Sims, Children: Matt Alan Sims (Ashton), Chase Copeland Sims (Destin), Misty Jackson and Marsha (Ryan) Broglie, Grandchildren: Claire Beth Sims, Emma Katherine Sims, Sam Alan Sims, Lennox Hamner, Alexa Bailey and Alyssa Adams, Great Grandson: Jax Adams, Sister: Linda Potts, A host of Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
In addition to his Parents he was preceded in death by, Brother: Timmy Sims.
