I have been on the search for a good quote about dreamers and while not exactly encapsulating some of the thoughts rolling around in head certainly getting close.

One of the things about my job that brings great joy and fills my tank is getting to interact with dreamers. I love meeting active owner operators and learning what makes them tick, and I like finding buyers who blend business sense with grit and tenacity.

There is an incredible wealth of information and advice out there about how to acquire a company but what I don't think gets enough attention is the people component of it all. If you want my advice, the best way to break through the noise is to truly show your entrepreneurial spirit and let the numbers take a (close) backseat.

"Work-Life Balance" In principal I am on board, in practice I am a work in progress.

As an entrepreneur this is a never ending wrestling match with myself. I want to be a present and involved father, I want to be successful in business, and I want to carve out time for myself; being able to find a balance between the three seems near impossible at times.

I find myself reflecting on the core values and advice of a former employer "God, family, business" and in my time working with them it was proven time and time again that they meant it. That ethos is something I have tried to adopt and adapt for myself. Work is important, building my company is important, my clients are important but being successful as a father is more important and taking care of myself is more important.

While I can sit and type these words with relative ease it is the accountability of self and the reminders of those close to me that continues to shape the "Work-Life Balance" I strive for.
