Make age just a number!
Ladies over 40 who want to get fit, lean, strong and healthy AF… I’m talking to you here. 💪
Don’t be afraid of strength work and food...be afraid of muscle loss and restrictive diets.
As women we we are naturally losing at least 3 -8% of our muscle mass over the age of 35 secondary to our shifting hormones.
Muscle is what keeps our metabolism roaring.
So if we are losing muscle… metabolism is also going to slow down.
Exercising more/randomly and eating less is NOT the plan to building a fit, lean, strong, healthy body with next level energy all day.
So what do you need to do?
Mix up your training. Strength train using weights or body weight with good form to a point of muscle failure 2- 3 times per week. Sprinkle in the steady state cardio. Throw in some bursts if you are up for it. Polarize that training. Ditch the slow and steady every day stuff.
Nourish your body to support building that muscle by understanding macros and how to eat them right. Focus on solid pre and post workout fueling for optimal results.
Sleep 7 -9 hours a night because muscle is built in bed.
Ditch dieting. You can’t diet yourself as a goal driven woman over 40 to a fit, lean, toned body with a roaring metabolism that feels freaking incredible. Dieting will only contribute to accelerated muscle loss and will downgrade your metabolism even faster.
