Three years ago we started collecting shoes over the summer for Children In Need, Inc.. That first year I had the opportunity to volunteer for the evening where families came in to pick up new shoes for their kids. What an incredible night.

The smiles, the joy, the excitement, the pride that was felt in that room is something I will never forget. All over a pair of shoes, which is something most take for granted.

We have about 2 weeks left in our collection drive. Our goal is to get to 75 pairs this year. Help us make a difference for 75 kids in Washington County, and drop off a pair of new shoes to our office, or simply use the Amazon link below.

A single pair of new shoes can help give the confidence and comfort to a child this upcoming school year.

The Younger Insurance Shoe Drive is back! đź‘ź

Another year of helping collect shoes for Children In Need, Inc. to help support their Soles of Hope Shoe Collection!

With your help, last year we were able to collect 51 pairs of shoes that went kids in Washington County.

This year, we are pushing to hit 75 pairs! We will be collecting them today through August 21st.

The biggest need is for shoes sizes 10 Toddler to 5 Youth (Boys and Girls).

Donations can be dropped at our office or shipped to us directly.

I volunteered at field day last week, then snuck over to Nutter's Ice Cream on the way home — no kids, no sharing, just five $20 gift cards and a cone for the road.

I got talked into buying the team lunch today.

Apparently when Taco Tuesday and Cinco de Mayo land on the same day, it’s a pretty big deal. I bought into it.

We ordered. Food showed up. Everyone was happy.

Referrals mean the world to us. It helps us grow, but also show that we are making an impact with our clients.

So a while back, we decided to make that mean something beyond just business.

Each quarter, for every referral we quote, we set aside a donation to a local organization.

For the first part of this year, we chose Habitat for Humanity- Washington County, MD.

We are happy to be involved with Habitat, and see the difference they make in our community.

Our team also had the chance to be involved in their Project Playhouse event last year, which is another great way to get involved with them and the community.

A few weeks ago I was invited to be part of a panel at Hagerstown Community College talking with students about life after graduation.

Not a boring insurance presentation or a recruiting pitch, just a group of local leaders sharing how we got started, what we’ve learned, and a few things we’d probably do differently.

If there’s one common thread, it’s this: nobody really has it all mapped out. You figure it out as you go.

That’s a big part of why I enjoy what we do here. We get to work with people at all different stages—starting out, changing direction, building something new, etc.

It was a good reminder that “figuring it out” is part of the process, not something you’re supposed to have done before you start.

Glad to be part of it.
