What the article completely fails to mention, is the fact that we are likely to see less plan options, narrower prescription formularies, higher monthly premiums and deductibles and higher cost sharing on many drugs. While I firmly believe that patients should be able to get treatment they need without going broke, I am also concerned for the entire Medicare population who may see a negative impact of the Inflation Reduction Act.
A recent study reveals that the Inflation Reduction Act could save Medicare beneficiaries over $7,000 per year on out-of-pocket costs for common oral cancer medications.
