Feeling nosy? 👀 Here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at one of my newest bookkeeping clients.

They’re a brand-new franchise gym, and one of their priorities was getting the bookkeeping right from the start so they could actually understand how the business was doing from day one.

That meant getting QuickBooks set up correctly, keeping the books accurate and up to date, and meeting each month to go over the numbers together.

Handing someone access to the financial side of your business takes a lot of trust, especially when you’re just getting started. I don’t take that lightly. 💗

Duplicate transactions aren’t normally something I’d panic about in your bookkeeping because they’re SO easy to catch and correct...

But if ~someone~ isn’t regularly reconciling your accounts, those pesky duplicates can haunt your books for waaay longer than anyone who runs a business would want. 👀

If your QuickBooks is technically up to date but you know something isn’t quite right, now is a pretty good time to get it cleaned up before year-end.

**And yes, my dogs are part of the marketing team. 😂

Turns out female founders really do want to understand what’s happening behind the numbers. 🤭

Who would’ve guessed?!

That’s one of my favorite parts of what I do. Helping business owners get their books organized, understand their numbers, and feel like they actually know what’s going on in their business.

And full credit for this video goes to Refuel Social Media by Laci Richter! 🤗 Thank you for pushing me out of my comfort zone and capturing me when I’m actually in my zone: sitting around a table with other women in business, brainstorming ideas and talking about how we can grow our businesses.

My challenge for every female founder this September? 👀

Track all of the hours you work!

Yes, that means the 5 minutes you spent responding to DMs this morning, the 15 minutes you’ll spend creating content later tonight, and all the random admin to-dos that pop up…

Use a time-tracking tool like Clockify, or just keep a running tally in your Notes app. Whatever works for you, just make sure you’re counting ALL of it. 😉

At the end of the month, divide your income by the total hours you worked to find your effective hourly rate.

Then ask yourself: “If this were a job, would I accept this pay?” 🤨

If the answer is no, it may be time to take a closer look at your pricing, services, expenses, or where your time is actually going.
