USDA has announced that payments under the 2025 Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC) & Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs are expected to total approximately $13.8 billion - the largest payout since these programs were established in the 2014 Farm Bill. 🌽🌾🌱

After completing the first base acreage increase in nearly two decades, USDA has announced the enrollment dates for Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) & Price Loss Coverage (PLC) for the 2026 & 2027 Crop Years.

We’ll be sharing more information in the coming weeks via email as you begin reviewing your ARC/PLC options & determining what makes sense for your operation. If you have questions in the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach out!

One important reminder: You now have the option to add SCO or ECO to your Crop Insurance policy regardless of whether you elect ARC or PLC at FSA.

If you farm through an LLC or S Corporation (Or one of the new qualified pass through entities), don’t overlook Tuesday’s September 15th deadline!

📞 Call the FSA office & ask what paperwork needs to be completed or on file by Tuesday.

Changes included in the Working Families Tax Cuts Act as part of OBBA may allow qualifying farm entities to stack payment limits based on each actively engaged member.

This could make a significant difference for your operation, don’t assume you’re covered!

Final Reminder: Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts Act producers now have more flexibility when it comes to structuring their operations to maximize benefits. For the 2026 program year only, FSA will look at entity structures as of Sept. 15, 2026, to ensure that payment eligibility and payment limitation determinations align. Producers who report farm operating plan changes after Sept. 15, 2026, will be required to provide documentation showing the entity information as of Sept. 15.

📈 2027 Wheat Base Price: Currently trending around $8.03/Bushel, with only 15 days remaining in the discovery period!

🌾 Wheat, Triticale & Other Small Grains: September 30th is the final day to sign up or make changes to your 2027 Wheat policy.

Important reminders from Kansas Wheat! 🌾

Proposed volunteer control windows across Kansas aim to reduce wheat streak mosaic risk. These windows span the 30 days before the optimal winter wheat planting date in each region. 🌾⁠

Here are key considerations for successful wheat-free windows:⁠

🟡Terminate all volunteer wheat so it’s completely dead before your regional window begins.⁠

🟡Delay fall wheat planting until the end of the window, if possible.⁠

🟡Avoid planting other winter cereals (like rye or triticale) during this time, as they can carry curl mites.⁠

🟡A regional break in the green bridge helps curl mites die off before wheat planting.⁠

🟡Volunteer wheat emerging after the window is less concerning, as it aligns with winter wheat establishment.⁠

🟡Community-wide coordination is essential for success.⁠

It's the last full week to report spring-planted acres for the 2026 Crop Year! Reminder in order to stay in compliance, all acres must be certified at FSA & reported to Crop Insurance by next Wednesday, July 15th.

If you're finished with wheat harvest, we're also ready for harvest yields so adjusters can begin finalizing any wheat claims. Please reach out with any questions!
