Would your teen or young driver know what steps to take after an accident?

Help them prepare now, with the hopes they'll never need it. Text them this checklist to put in their notes app of their phone or print a paper copy for their glove box.

- Move car and yourself to safety if able
- Call 911
- Don't talk to other driver about the accident—just check they are OK
- Get their full name
- Their address
- Take pic of their license plate
- Pic of their insurance card
- Take pic of the scene including damage to both cars, tire marks on road, etc.

Most likely the parents will start the claims process, but if they live out of town, send them details of their carrier's info and how to submit a claim.
