This past weekend, I earned my BFA® (Behavioral Financial Advisor) designation.
What drew me to this program is the focus on the human side of financial planning — because great advice is rarely just about numbers. It’s about understanding behavior, emotions, decision-making, and helping clients stay grounded through uncertainty and change.
The timing feels fitting. At a conference last week, one of our leaders said something that stuck with me: you can’t truly excel in this career if you’re not all in. At some point, you have to let go of the safety nets that are holding you back.
Earlier this year, I made the decision to let my ATC/LAT credentials expire. That wasn’t easy — athletic training was something I worked hard for, and it played an important role in my career and growth. But it also made me realize I’m fully committed to the work I’m doing now and the advisor I want to become.
So while a few letters went away, a few new ones took their place.
