Good mernin and happy Sunday, my precious little weather biologicals.
We’re still warm and mostly sunny today, although Saturday’s front took a few degrees off the thermometer east of the mountains. October continues to have absolutely no respect for the calendar. 😆
Anyhoodles, SE Wyoming and I-80: Sunshine, lighter wind, and highs mainly in the 70s.
Western Slope: Sunny and warm, with populated valleys reaching the upper 70s to mid 80s.
Mountain valleys: Mostly sunny, with highs from the mid 60s to mid 70s depending on elevation. An isolated high altitude shower isn’t out of the question, but most places stay dry.
Front Range and I-25: Sunny and pleasant. Denver and much of northern Colorado should land in the lower 80s, while Colorado Springs stays in the 70s.
Eastern Plains: Sunshine and highs mainly in the 70s, with a few places pushing toward 80°. It’s a little cooler than Saturday. Including our friends in the western Nebrasky Pandyhandle and western Kansas.
Medium & long range forecast: Monday warms up again. Denver could reach the mid to upper 80s, close to its daily record, while parts of northern Colorado may get warmer. A weak disturbance Tuesday could produce a few mountain showers or weak storms, especially around the central mountains. I’m not expecting widespread rain along I-25.
After that, above normal temperatures and mostly dry weather look likely through much of the week.
The forecast models, in particular the Euro and the GFS along with a good chunk of their ensemble members (the more models agree on something, the higher the confidence that it will happen) agree that a cool down with a cold front is coming next weekend. It could signal the beginning of a more sustained fall like weather pattern. Precipitation? Too far out to say right meow.
