Well the Fed did cut the Federal Funds Rate by 50 basis points today which is a good sign for mortgage rates. While the market has this expected cut mostly accounted for in current market pricing, this is the first big sign from the Fed that inflation is easing and the job market is not as strong as those silly reports lead us to believe after consistently being revised lower. As many of you have heard me say "Inflation is the driver of rates. Inflation skyrocketed and so did rates" Inflation is coming down and this is a good move by the Fed which will celebrated by the markets for months to come.
