After months of planning and hard work, AnnieMac’s Fetch the Ball Golf Tournament was a big success on May 7. Between the green fees, the dinner and awards banquet, the sponsorships, and the raffle and silent auction, the event raised a total of $39,000 for Freedom Service Dogs of America.
The money will go toward the training of two service dogs that will be provided free of charge to veteran clients. AnnieMac has previously funded the training of another service dog, which was provided to a veteran with PTSD.
The event took place at the Burlington Country Club in Mt. Holly, N.J. The weather cooperated, staying sunny and warm throughout most of the day for the 144 golfers who participated.
Joining us for the event were former NFL greats Beasley Reece, CEO of NFL Alumni, and Philadelphia Eagle Mike Quick. Other special guests included Nadine Pace and Kate Goble of FSD, who brought along two dogs from the program.
According to FSD, the tournament will be a big help for the agency, the clients, and for the dogs themselves, many of which are rescue dogs. A statement from the agency reads: “We are incredibly grateful to AnnieMac for their generous support of FSD at this event, which truly is helping change two lives with one swing.”
