Trent May, CHFC "You Don't Have to Walk Alone"

I reduce anxiety in successful professionals by providing them with financial roadmaps and investment management, enabling them to achieve a work-optional lifestyle.

Most people aren’t lazy. They’re overwhelmed.

Their brain has 47 tabs open. Their calendar looks like a game of Tetris played by a raccoon. They’re making good money, but still laying awake at 2 AM wondering if they’re actually making progress.

That’s why I love helping people become work optional.

Not because they necessarily want to quit tomorrow.
But because having options changes the way you breathe.

Financial planning should reduce anxiety, not sound like a hostage negotiation with a spreadsheet.

Overwhelmed minds don’t always need a life overhaul.
Sometimes they just need a financial plan strong enough to make work feel optional instead of mandatory.

Because survival mode is a terrible retirement strategy.

A weird amount of successful professionals are walking around with high incomes, solid retirement accounts… and a nervous system held together by caffeine and calendar reminders.

The last few years have created real opportunities for investment growth, but growth without a plan can still feel chaotic. More money does not automatically create more peace.

That’s why so many of our conversations revolve around one question:

“What would it take for work to become optional someday?”

Not “quit tomorrow and buy a llama farm in Montana” optional.
Just… options. Breathing room. Margin. A future that doesn’t feel like a hostage negotiation with your inbox.

Financial guidance for overwhelmed minds.
Because your brain already has 47 tabs open and at least one of them is playing panic music.

Successful professionals are some of the most overwhelmed people I meet.

High income. Packed calendar. 47 unread texts. A brain running background apps like a 2009 Dell fighting for its life.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, they’re supposed to “figure out retirement planning.”

That’s why meetings here feel different.

Less pressure. Less jargon. Less being talked down to by a guy named Bryce who just discovered navy quarter-zips.

Just real conversations focused on reducing anxiety and helping you become work-optional. Because your financial plan shouldn’t feel like another fire to put out.

One thing I’ve noticed over the years:

Widows rarely want a high pressure financial meeting.
They want clarity. Patience. And sometimes they want to bring their daughter, best friend, neighbor, or “the cousin who does research online."

Good. Bring them.

You should never feel like you have to walk into these conversations alone. Especially after life just flipped your world upside down.

Somewhere along the way, a lot of people started believing financial meetings are supposed to feel intimidating.

Like you’re being called into the principal’s office… but with pie charts.

Nah.

My goal is pretty simple:
Reduce anxiety.
Create a plan.
Help good people become work-optional.

And maybe leave the meeting feeling 17 pounds lighter because your brain isn’t carrying the entire future by itself anymore.

If you're over the age of 50 and you have money invested, you should be talking to your financial advisor about the best way to protect the gains you've made over the last 3 years. If you don't have an advisor, please reach out. You don't have to walk alone.

A lot of successful people feel completely ignored financially.

Calls unanswered.
Questions brushed off.
Too “small” to matter.
Too overwhelmed to know where to start.

Overwhelmed minds don’t need pressure.
They need clarity, calm, and a roadmap.

That’s why at May Financial Group, we tell everyone.......

You Don't Have to Walk Alone

Many of my clients come to me because they’re just mentally exhausted.

Successful professionals. Widows. People trying to hold together careers, families, aging parents, 47 open browser tabs, and a nervous system held together with caffeine and pure spite.

They don’t need a lecture. They need a plan and someone who doesn’t make them feel stupid for being overwhelmed.

That’s kind of our thing.

May Financial Group. Helping overwhelmed minds become work optional.

Tiny bit of sass. Tiny bit of truth. Like a financial grilled cheese at 2 AM.
