I’ve heard people say character is who you are when no one is watching, but I believe it counts when people are watching too.
My good friend and regional manager, David Karamitros, showed his true character again this week.
David spent his entire day traveling from Atlanta to Greenville, setting up, cooking, serving, and tearing down one of his Greek Day events for a fundraiser supporting a local business partner and friend.
What stood out most wasn’t just the effort. It was the attitude behind it.
Not once did he talk about how busy he was, how much work he had waiting on him, or how inconvenient the day may have been. He was fully invested in the moment and fully invested in the people around him.
We live in a transactional world where it’s easy to measure everything by dollars, time, and ROI. For many people, an event like this would have been viewed as a “negative return.” David never hesitated to say yes when asked months ago.
That’s because he understands something a lot of people forget:
We are in a people business.
Not just with clients, but with everyone we come in contact with.
Grateful for leaders who lead by example and remind us that relationships, generosity, and showing up for people still matter.
