Effective immediately, the suspension of binding authority issued for Hurricane Idalia has been modified for South Carolina.
The following counties have been added to the binding suspension for property exposures:
Dillon, Dorchester, Florence, Hampton, Marion, and Williamsburg
At this time, the binding suspension remains in effect for the following counties.
Beaufort, Charleston, Colleton, Georgetown, Horry, and Jasper
Binding authority has been suspended for all Nationwide property exposures (including but not limited to Allied Insurance Company of America, Allied Property and Casualty Insurance Company, AMCO Insurance Company, Colonial County Mutual Insurance Company, Crestbrook Insurance Company, Depositors Insurance Company, Harleysville Insurance Company, Harleysville Insurance Company of New Jersey, Harleysville Insurance Company of New York, Harleysville Lake States Insurance Company, Harleysville Preferred Insurance Company, Harleysville Worcester Insurance Company, Nationwide Affinity Insurance Company of America, Nationwide Agribusiness Insurance Company, Nationwide Assurance Company, Nationwide General Insurance Company, Nationwide Insurance Company of America, Nationwide Insurance Company of Florida, Nationwide Lloyds, Nationwide Mutual Fire Insurance Company, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, Nationwide Property and Casualty Insurance Company, Titan Insurance Company, Victoria Fire & Casualty Company, Victoria National Insurance Company, and Victoria Select Insurance Company).
No new or additional insurance coverage may be bound except for coverages required by a state regulation until this suspension is removed. This rule applies to all property and physical damage bearing coverages (Personal, Farm & Commercial), auto physical damage coverage (including recreational vehicles/motorcycles), garagekeepers coverage, boiler and machinery coverage, inland marine, and boat coverage.
This suspension also applies to changes to coverages or deductibles for existing insureds and will remain in effect until further notice. An additional newly acquired vehicle may be added to a standard personal lines policy with the broadest coverage of any existing vehicle on the policy. A replacement vehicle may be added to a standard personal lines policy with coverages equal to the vehicle it is replacing on the policy. In accordance with individual state statutes, reissues or reinstatements are not permitted while the binding suspension remains in effect.
