August had several “firsts” for the Clardy family and an exciting start to a new school year. The twins started high school and are excited about following in Max’s footsteps at Eastside High. Max started his sophomore year in college last week but at a new location as he completed his transfer from Samford University to Furman University this summer. Memories of my first day as a college student at Furman way back in 1987 came rushing back as we were on campus moving Max into his dorm last week. I hope everyone has a successful school year!

Joanne and I are excited to welcome Marcus Graham, an Asset Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA) who actively holds his Series 7/63 licensing and is very knowledgeable in financial planning, insurance and investment products. Marcus officially started with the team on May 22 and prior to joining my team, he was an advisor in Northwestern Mutual’s Asheville office. Originally from Minnesota, Marcus and his wife Regan met in at Bob Jones University in 2016 and were married in 2020. Two years later, Marcus received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Winona State University before moving back to the Carolinas. Marcus, his wife and young daughter Wrenley enjoy spending time together outdoors and are very active in their church.

We’ve had a busy month celebrating the twins 8th grade graduation from Mitchell Road Christian Academy and the completion of Max’s freshman year at Samford University. MRCA has been a wonderful school for our three kids since Max started there in 2010 so this year is definitely bittersweet. Proud of Max, Lane and Abe’s resilience and determination throughout the school year, which reminds me of valuable advice once offered by Winston Churchill, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts."
