Beth Price from our agency was recently invited by Heritage Insurance to participate in an Agency Advisory Council in Charleston, SC. Much information was shared and our agency gained some good insight from Heritage and the other SC agencies that attended! Thank you Heritage for this opportunity!

Good morning,
We hope this message finds you safe and well in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. We understand that this has been a challenging time for so many, and we want to extend our heartfelt support.
As you work through the recovery process, please know that we are here to help. Our team is available to assist you with any claims or questions regarding your coverage.
Some tips while you sort through the process are:
• If trees DO NOT damage porches, patios, sheds, fences, roof, house, or block access to the house, then the cost of removing trees from yard IS NOT covered. You may want to wait several weeks before paying someone to do that, it may be considerably less expensive.
• Where a tree lands is where the insurance coverage is. Meaning if your tree hits your neighbor’s house and then their insurance pays and vice versa.
• Tarp your roof to protect your assets.
• Please be patient – it will take time for claims to be processed with the amount of damage that has occurred.
Here are our recommendations:
Keep a list and document all damage
Inventory your property. Make a list of all structures and items that have been damaged or destroyed to share with the adjuster. Take photos and videos of any damage. This documentation will be very helpful in the claims process.
Save your receipts
Keep receipts of items you have purchased (or services you have contracted) to mitigate further damage.

We have seen an unprecedented amount of claims filed, so response time will likely take longer than usual. The good news is that insurance companies are bringing in adjusters from all over the country to expedite the claims process.
