The Board Members of Ignite the Spirit of Greensboro would like for you to be familiar with and understand the countless efforts that our Foundation represents; community involvement, assisting our brothers and sisters of the Greensboro Fire Department and having the passion for making a difference in the lives of others. Founded in Chicago in 2003, our mission expanded to Greensboro, NC during 20
12, uniting both chapters under a single banner of compassion and support. Together, we have empowered over 800 families facing hardship, offering financial assistance, resources, and emotional support totaling over $2 million dollars. We are committed to the values of respect, compassion, and discretion; ensuring the privacy and dignity of those we are here to help. Beyond the individual chapters, we cultivate a strong community within the firefighting family. Collaboration and camaraderie flow across borders, amplifying our reach and impact. Whether through fundraising events, partnerships with organizations, or the endless dedication of our volunteers, we work tirelessly to ensure no firefighter family faces hardship alone. That is why Ignite the Spirit takes great pride in being able to make a difference in the lives of people when called upon. The support we have been able to give has been significant, and the overwhelming amount of gratitude given back is priceless. Ignite the Spirit continues on without much fanfare, embodying the spirit of our slogan “We are HERE when you need us.”
