Some days, it only takes one person to completely turn your day around. Yesterday was a Monday for sure and my head was low with still yet a few hours to go. Never underestimate what your kind demeanor can accomplish. Thank you Celisa Ryans for turning my day around.

Today is May 30th and marks 8 days until my vacation starts but who’s counting. Anyway, one of the greatest voice actors to ever live was born on this day in 1908. You probably already know who I’m talking about even if his name escapes you. Mel Blanc, otherwise known as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and a myriad of others with his most notable role possibly being the Tasmanian Devil. I mean, who could forget “Gahbalagoohoohoo!”

Also notable today is a famous death. Joan of Arc was burned at the stake today after what was considered an unfair trial. She has an incredible story if you ever want to read about history from the 1400’s. Fun fact: Mel Blanc started his radio career at 19 and Joan was killed at 19 while his birth was on the same day as her death just years apart. Conspiracy theorists GO!

One more and I’m finished. A famous man murdered someone on this day in 1806. Essentially, Andrew Jackson shot a man during a duel over a horse bet. It seems to me it was more over the insults slewed about after the disagreement because these guys were posting in the local newspaper calling each other poltroons. I’ve been called a lot of things but never a poltroon. I mean, the nerve! Main reason I even include this is because dueling was illegal in Tennessee at the time so they just went across the border into Kentucky to shoot at each other. Politicians have been finding their way around the law for as long as history goes back. Why are people still shocked? Let’s talk about politics. Want to?
