Edward Jones-Financial Advisor: Aaron Slate

Edward Jones-Financial Advisor: Aaron Slate Every person has a sign they carry with them. We all want everyone to read our sign, but that doesn't always happen in the fast-paced modern world we live in.

So why do we want people to read our sign? Each and every one of us has a desire to be acknowledged and respected. But what does our sign say? It simply says, "I am important." My team and I have committed ourselves to acknowledging, respecting and understanding what is most important to our clients. We do this by utilizing an established, yet very simple process to deliver a level of care we would expect ourselves. I began my career with Edward Jones in 2016 is a branch intern, and became a financial advisor after earning a BBA in finance in 2017. Prior to earning my degree, I served five years in the United States Marine Corps. One core value from service that I strive to embody is service to others. Outside of my practice I serve as the president of the Greenridge Chamber of Commerce; sit on the board directors of the Springfield Kiwanis Club; and am founder of a scholarship that honors a friend and fallen hero. My wife, Savannah, and I are life-long residents of the Greenbrier area where we still reside with our son (Walker). Savannah is the glue of our family, and teaches second grade for Robertson County Schools. We both love our community, and are blessed to serve. The majority of Americans are either conflicted or stressed about their finances, but it doesn’t have to be that way. When your finances reflect what matters most to you, everything feels a little more in sync.

That’s why confidence is just as important as the numbers. If you’ve been wanting more clarity, let’s talk.

If you'll soon retire, or recently have, market volatility may feel especially unsettling. And that’s understandable because at this point in your life, market downturns can have an outsized impact on your financial security.

That’s why now is a good time to stress-test your retirement income.

First, start by confirming how much you rely on your portfolio for income and how a market drop may affect your short-term needs.

Then consider whether you have enough in an emergency fund to help you through. Three to six months’ worth of essential expenses is a standard rule of thumb.

And think about where you could adjust your spending, and if you need to reduce your exposure to riskier assets such as stocks.

If you’d like help stress-testing your retirement income plan, I can help you evaluate your options and stay focused on your long-term goals, even when the markets are anything but steady.

Hey everyone! From time to time, I think it's good to take a moment to reintroduce myself both professionally and personally.

My team and I have committed ourselves to truly understanding what is most important to our clients. We do this by utilizing an established, yet very clear and simple, process to deliver a level of care we would expect ourselves. Whether a pre-retiree, retiree or business owner, our clients can expect the following:

- Straightforward conversations about fees, strategy and expectations
- Responsive and consistent one-on-one service from me
- Access to the resources and research of Edward Jones

Our office is currently serving clients in the Greenbrier, Springfield and greater Robertson County areas. We also remotely serve clients who live outside of Tennessee.

I began my career with Edward Jones in 2016 as a branch intern and became a financial advisor after earning my Bachelor of Business Administration in finance in 2017. Prior to earning my degree, I served five years in the United States Marine Corps.

One core value from service that I strive to embody is service to others. Outside my practice, I serve on the board of directors for Springfield Kiwanis Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes for Robertson County. I am a member of American Legion Post 45 in Greenbrier, and I also help coach our kids' sports teams. As a family, we attend Life Center Church in Cross Plains.

My wife, Savannah, and I are lifelong residents of the Greenbrier area, where we still reside with our children, Walker, Rowan and Annie Jo. 5 Things Worth the $$

1. Grocery Delivery. With raising three children, having our groceries delivered saves us a lot of time. We also plan our meals for the week and order only what we need. Doing it this way and not going into the store eliminates impulse buying.

2. All-inclusive Vacations. Going on vacation with the freedom to do whatever we want without worrying about what it costs is so much more relaxing.

3. Oil changes and light vehicle maintenance. This one may have your scratching your head. My dad was a mechanic for a lot of my childhood so growing up, we were do-it-yourselfers. I've learned that for the time it takes me to do the small jobs, I'm better off to pay a professional to do it for me.

4. Quality sunglasses. Having blue eyes, I wear sunglasses even on cloudy days. A well-made pair of sunglasses can last more than half a decade.

5. A good pocket knife. Every man should have a good knife that doesn't dull easily. I can't count how many times a week I hear, "Do you have a knife" or my wife say, "Hey, can I see your knife."

What are five things that are worth the money to you and your family?
