For the second time this year, the Federal Reserve cut short-term interest rates by 25 basis points. In addition, Fed Chair Jerome Powell officially brought 3+ years of QT to a close.

Will we get a third rate cut in December?

Mr. Powell said it's "not a foregone conclusion - far from it."

The Fed Funds Rate and Mortgage Rates Don’t Move Hand in Hand

Existing home closings rose 1.5% from August to September, slightly below expectations, but were still up 4.1% compared to a year ago. Inventory also increased, climbing 1.3% from August and 14% year over year.
