They will take you to court and even then you can still fight the account.
1. Paying a collection WILL NOT remove it from your credit report. ( Paying for a deletion is rare but can happen in some cases )
2. Paying a collection WILL NOT raise your credit score ( At best it will say “ paid collection “ and that doesn’t help you because it’s still a Collection.
90% of the time they will Not take you to court because that will cost them money and time. Most collection account debts are not worth that investment or effort.
For most of you it will cost them more to take you to court than debt owed.
You really owe them but that’s a different convo.
SAVE YOURSELF SOME MONEY 💴 BE PATIENT AND WORK UNTIL ITS DELETED.
Collections can stay on your credit for 7+ years if not disputed.
It can come off in as little as 30 days if you dispute it. Even if it took 6-12 months of writing the credit bureaus before it comes off..
THATS STILL BETTER THAN 7 YEARS!
