A question I get a lot: My insurance keeps going up, how do I SAVE money on it?

Insurance premiums are going up… but that doesn’t always mean you have to sacrifice coverage to save money.

Here are a few ways to potentially lower your premium without cutting the protection you need:

1. Review your deductibles – Increasing a deductible can lower your premium while keeping the same coverage limits.

2. Bundle your policies – Combining home, auto, business, or other policies with the right carrier can unlock valuable discounts.

3. Ask about available discounts – Safe driving, alarm systems, newer roofs, claims-free history, defensive driving courses, and more may qualify.

4. Review your vehicles – Make sure your usage, mileage, drivers, and vehicle information are accurate. Sometimes circumstances change and your policy doesn’t.

5. Shop your policy—not just your price – Different insurance companies can have very different rates for the exact same risk.

6. Review your policy annually – Your life changes, your business changes, and your insurance should change with it.

The biggest mistake I see? Cutting coverage just to make the premium cheaper.

The goal shouldn’t always be the cheapest insurance. It should be finding the right coverage at the right price.

If you haven’t reviewed your insurance recently, let’s take a look. You might be surprised by what we can find!

Preparation Eliminates Panic. Let’s take the pain out of insurance.

Insurance is more than a policy. It’s part of how business gets done.

Think about everything that has to happen before a building gets purchased, a business gets funded, or a project gets completed.

🏦 A commercial lender needs to know the property and business are properly protected.
🏠 A mortgage lender needs insurance in place before they can close on a home.
🏡 A realtor helps bring the buyer and seller together.
🔨 A contractor turns an idea into a building, remodel, or finished project.
🛡️ And somewhere in the middle of all of it is the insurance professional helping identify and transfer the risks that could derail the deal.

Insurance agents get to work alongside lenders, realtors, contractors, business owners, buyers, sellers, and so many others to help make sure the unexpected doesn’t stop progress.

That’s one of the things I love about this business.

We’re not just selling insurance.

We’re helping people buy buildings, start businesses, complete projects, protect investments, create jobs, and keep moving forward.

At the end of the day, insurance is about more than paperwork.

It’s about preparation. It’s about partnership. And it’s about keeping the world moving.

It’s Thursday… which basically means we’re all mentally halfway into the weekend already. 😂

Before you officially check out:

☕ Finish the coffee
📧 Answer most of those emails
🚗 Get through the workday
😎 Start making those weekend plans

And somewhere wayyyyy down the list… maybe make sure your insurance still makes sense.

Because nothing ruins a good weekend faster than finding out “I thought I was covered” isn’t actually coverage. 😬

Have a great Thursday — the weekend is almost here!

🏠 Market Value vs. Replacement Cost — They’re NOT the Same Thing! 🏢

Whether you own a home or a commercial building, this is an important insurance distinction to understand.

Market Value is what your property could sell for today. It considers things like:
📍 Location
🏘️ Neighborhood or surrounding development
📈 Supply and demand
🌳 Land value
🏢 Income potential for commercial properties

Replacement Cost is what it would cost to rebuild the structure after a covered loss using today’s labor and material costs.

Here’s the part that surprises people:

👉 A building with a $300,000 market value could cost $500,000+ to rebuild.

Or the opposite:

👉 A property worth $700,000 on the market might only cost $450,000 to rebuild because the land and location make up a large portion of its value.

Your insurance company generally isn’t trying to insure what you could sell the property for. They’re trying to determine what it would cost to reconstruct it after a major loss.

That’s why simply saying, “I only paid $300,000 for the building, so why am I insuring it for $500,000?” doesn’t tell the whole story.

For both homeowners and business owners, making sure your building limit reflects an accurate replacement cost can be the difference between being properly protected and finding out you’re underinsured when you need your policy most.

Preparation Eliminates Panic. Helping YOU take the pain out of insurance.

I love getting reviews and learning new ways to invent myself or things that I am doing well!

"I first got the pleasure of meeting Tanner through the Greater Green Bay Chamber. Our company had recently joined and Tanner was one of the first people to introduce himself and welcome me. That friendly demeanor and openness is not something that he does... it’s who he is. As I find more opportunities to partner with Tanner I continue to be impressed with the value he brings to any equation. His knowledge of the insurance world is top notch and his dedication to his customers is just as amazing. Tanner is an engaged leader within the groups we both are part of and also community efforts I see him involved in. You can count on this talented and dependable fellow for just about anything." -Ryan Phillips

Waking up and reading reviews like this make me so excited to start the day and see what differences I can make for people!

"Tanner's professional drive to continually grow his business is refreshingly balanced with his dedication to serve those around him. I have had the pleasure of serving with Tanner on the Green Bay Chamber's Ambassador's Club, we are both in the same HBBA networking group and serve on the HBBA Executive Board, and we actively seek out opportunities to serve our community including both serving the American Cancer Society of Wisconsin's Real Men Wear Pink Campaign. Of all those shared experiences I have found one simple and profound truism: the more I am around Tanner the better I am for it." - Mark Dunning
