Man arrested on multiple charges following a vehicle pursuit
[Weld County, COLO.] In the early morning hours of Aug. 10th, shortly after 11:00 A.M. Code 4 Bail Bonds observed one of the fugitives they were looking for driving a blue Jeep Liberty. The
Bail Enforcement Agent attempted to stop on the Jeep at 13th Street and 9th Ave near Greeley. The driver of the
vehicle, who was later identified as 45-year-old Fidel "MELO" Balderrama, reportedly failed to stop and began to
accelerate away from the Bail Enforcement Agent.
The Bail Enforcement Agent pursued the vehicle, with other Bail Enforcement Agents assisting, and noted Balderrama reportedly failed to stop at a red traffic lights when he entered the intersections. Balderrama also reportedly
drove the wrong way on 10th Street which has a median and traveled westbound in the eastbound lanes.
Code 4 Bail Bonds was able to successfully end the pursuit due to the vehicle running out of gas.
Balderrama was taken into custody, and after an investigation, probable cause was developed, and
Balderrama was arrested on suspicion of:
• Vehicular Eluding
• Displayed/Possessed/Sold Fictitious License Plate (Traffic)
• Drove Vehicle Wrong Way on One-Way Roadway (Traffic)
• Failed To Drive in Single Lane (Weaving) (Traffic)
• Failed To Drive as Required on Divided Highway (Traffic)
• Failed To Observe Traffic Control Device (Traffic) - 6 Counts
• Violation Of Bond Conditions
No Bail Enforcement Agent or community members were injured during this incident. We’d also like to thank all the other Bail Enforcement Agents for their support and assistance.
All charges are merely accusations, and a defendant is presumed innocent until, unless proven guilty in a
court of law.
Just for laughs! None of the events actually happened.
