One of my favorite things about working with business owners is hearing how it all started.

Whether it was a lifelong dream, a leap of faith, a family tradition, or simply seeing a need in the community, I’d love to hear what inspired you to start your business.

Let’s talk business. ☕

If we met for coffee tomorrow, what’s one thing you’d want to discuss about your business?

I’m curious to see what’s top of mind for business owners right now. 👇

Happy Friday!

As business owners, we’re often focused on what’s next. Today, let’s pause and celebrate a win.

Finish this sentence:

“This week in my business, I am proud that we _______.”

No win is too small. Let’s hear it! 👇

"I'll just put everything in joint tenancy."

I hear this almost every week. It's a common shortcut — put the house, the account, the property in both names with a kid or a spouse, and assume it solves the inheritance question.

Sometimes it does. Often it creates new problems people didn't see coming.

A few things joint tenancy actually does:
- Gives the other person full legal ownership NOW, not just at death
- Exposes the asset to that person's creditors, divorce, lawsuits
- Skips your will entirely — whoever's name is on the deed gets it, regardless of what your estate documents say
- Can cost your heirs a meaningful step-up in basis at your death

None of which means joint tenancy is bad. It means it's a tool, not a strategy.

Strategy is knowing why you're using it, what it does, and what it doesn't.

What an incredible experience. Leadership Great Falls gave me the chance to learn from community leaders, explore industries I knew little about, and build relationships with people who care deeply about the future of Great Falls. Grateful for the experience and honored to have shared it with such a great group. 💙

Congratulations to Great Falls Investment Advisor Representative David Dahl and Business Banking Officer Aspen Aggas for receiving the Certificate of Leadership Achievement from Leadership Great Falls. David was also recognized as "Most Likely to Become Mayor", and Aspen as “Most Likely to Bring Business Back to Great Falls.”

Through this program, David and Aspen had the opportunity to attend various in-depth sessions and gain firsthand exposure to the various sectors that drive the Great Falls region.

Huge congratulations to Broke Axe Throwing on their ribbon cutting! 🪓✨

Walking in, you can immediately tell how much heart and soul was poured into creating this space for the Great Falls community. The atmosphere is comfortable, welcoming, and genuinely fun — the kind of place you can picture yourself hanging out for hours.

The decor is absolutely beautiful, they have plenty of throwing bays, drinks available, and an overall vibe that makes it feel like more than just an activity spot — it feels like an experience.

Great Falls gained something really special with this one. Excited to see the community support this awesome new local business! 👏

What an inspiring afternoon celebrating the High School House Program with NeighborWorks Great Falls and Great Falls Public Schools!

It was incredible to hear from Mike Rowe on the value of skilled trades and to have Governor Gianforte officially proclaim November 13 as High School House Day in Montana. Add in Wells Fargo’s generous $200,000 donation, and you could truly feel the momentum behind supporting hands-on learning and real career pathways for our students.

Programs like this strengthen our workforce, our neighborhoods, and the future of Great Falls. Proud to witness the impact this initiative is making—one student, one skill, one project at a time. 🛠️🏡💙
