If you are a first-time homebuyer in the area and need down payment assistance, there are several programs available. The top two locally are Nevada County Down Payment Assistance that offers mid-level income earners $50,000 of down payment assistance and the City of Grass Valley First Time Homebuyer Program that can assist with up to $250,000 of down payment assistance for residents that meet the income guidelines (this one is now starting a waiting list as the program is not quite available yet). You might be surprised how much you can make and still qualify for these programs. I have completed loans for clients utilizing these programs and it is real!
