One Saturday morning a dad of three was helping a friend move a heavy piece of furniture down a flight of stairs. In a split second he slipped, fell awkwardly, and shattered his ankle and lower leg.

Just got back from a few days camping at Fort Bragg with my favorite people. No alarms, no deadlines — just salty air, trees, and plenty of time to slow down and be present.

Sundays are my favorite. Family dinners, kids running around, and that little reminder of what really matters.

When I think about why I do what I do, it always comes back to this—my family. Liz and I want to give our kids a love-filled home, fun experiences, and most importantly, our presence. That’s why I believe so deeply in planning and protection. It gives me peace of mind knowing that no matter what life throws our way, they’re cared for.
