Brecht & Associates begins its 25th year!

What started as a spark of an idea in the 1980s has become a quarter-century legacy of innovation, integrity and family-driven leadership. On October 1, 2025, Brecht & Associates kicks off its 25th year in business-marking a major milestone and a moment of transition. From a one-man startup to a successful independent MGA led by three generations, the Brecht team has redefined what it means to grow with commitment and integrity, serve with purpose, and build for the future.

From the one-man shop to three generations, Bill has built the epitome of an independent MGA. Beginning with his daughter, Nicole Sopkin, whose background as an office manager, made the easy transition from working and living in Minnesota to getting procedures in place in Texas. Bill’s wife, Jennifer, whose experience with the back-office side of the MGA world, began working in the office shortly thereafter. Next, Nicole’s husband, Mike, joined the agency and began to learn the business, focusing on transportation. All of this happened in the early years, the three working together under Bill’s leadership as he brought in additional talent to help grow the business.

In the mid-2010s Nicole & Mike’s daughter, Carissa, graduated college and joined the family business and is another integral member of the team. Thus solidifying the succession plan for another generation.

At the beginning of 2025 Jennifer Brecht was named President. Bill Brecht remains the Chairman and CEO. United by vision and driven by legacy, the Brechts lead a success driven team committed to delivering unmatched value to the carriers they represent and the agencies they proudly serve.

We went paperless back in 2007 to better serve our producers but I’m willing to bring back the file room for this little guy. Jackson is helping his Mom, Carissa Tanner, with some filing today. Binding & filing, the Tanner Team is killing it!!

Congratulations to Kim Miller, Carissa Tanner, and Christian Corpus!!! They all completed the BMW Dallas 1/2 marathon yesterday then hobbles into work today!!
