Do not let DEBT tear you apart! EVERYONE WANTS TO GET OUT OF DEBT. FEW PEOPLE ARE PREPARED FOR WHAT IT ACTUALLY REQUIRES. We can give you an action plan!
Getting out of debt is not simply about finding money to pay creditors.
It also requires changing how you live, how you think and how you make financial decisions.Over time, I have come to believe that three principles are particularly important. I call them the SPD Model:
S — SACRIFICE
You cannot seriously fight debt while protecting every part of your current lifestyle.
Sacrifice may mean cutting non-essential expenses, eating out less, reducing entertainment, changing where you shop or temporarily living at a lower standard than you are accustomed to.
It is about accepting:
“For this season, something has to change.”
P — PATIENCE
Debt problems are rarely solved overnight.
When you are highly indebted, it can become frustrating because you may be making payments but feel as though you are making very little progress.
Don't allow that frustration to push you into desperate financial decisions.
Debt recovery is a process.
Keep working the plan. Keep reducing the debt. Give the process time.
D — DELAYED GRATIFICATION
There are things you may want but simply cannot afford right now.
The expensive car can wait.
The lifestyle upgrade can wait.
Some luxuries can wait.
Delayed gratification means being willing to say:
“I want it, but my current financial position cannot support it. I will postpone it.”
