This Memorial Day, Great Lakes Commercial Finance pauses to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is a powerful reminder of the freedoms we enjoy and the responsibility we share to uphold their legacy.

As we reflect on the meaning of this day, we extend our deepest gratitude to the families of the fallen and to all who have served.

In observance of Memorial Day, GLCF will be closed on Monday, May 25. We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, May 26.

Big changes are coming to SBA lending, and GLCF was there for the announcement.
At the NADCO Spring Summit in Washington, D.C., our own Julie Parker and Gary Witkowski were present for a major SBA announcement....one that directly impacts how we serve our small business clients.

Starting July 4, 2026, eligible borrowers who combine 7(a) and 504 loans can access historically high levels of SBA financing, with combined funding reaching up to $10 million.

âś… Up to $5M through a 504 loan ($5.5M for manufacturing and green projects)
âś… Up to $5M through a 7(a) loan
âś… Both loans can be used together with proper sequencing
âś… Greater flexibility to fund real estate, equipment, and working capital in one structure

🌸 May Brings Steady Opportunity for Small Businesses

As we head deeper into spring, now is a great time for business owners to revisit SBA 504 financing through GLCF. Rates have remained steady, and long‑term, fixed‑rate financing continues to be a reliable foundation for confident planning and sustainable growth.

For manufacturers and expanding businesses especially, available incentives and structured financing can still deliver meaningful long‑term value. Whether a purchase, expansion, or refinance is on your horizon, May is a great moment to explore your options.

If you have a project you would like to discuss, please call our office at (616) 459-4825.

Today marks nine years since GLCF gained more than a team member - we gained someone who would help shape the very foundation of how we approach lending.

Amy Dubridge, our Vice President of Credit, has been an integral part of our growth since joining us in May 2017. With over 225 SBA 504 loans underwritten and more than 100 SBA 7(a) loans packaged, her expertise speaks for itself - but it is her leadership, perspective, and commitment to excellence that truly define her impact here.

As she steps into her ninth year with GLCF, we're proud to have someone of Amy's caliber guiding our credit team and helping small businesses access the financing they need to thrive.

Amy, your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed. Thank you for everything you bring to this team, every single day.

Please join us in wishing Amy an early happy work anniversary! 🎉

Did you know that Debenture sizes for projects to Small Manufacturers are limited to $5,500,000 per eligible project - not per borrower?

That means qualified manufacturers can access bond financing for multiple projects without being constrained by aggregate SBA exposure maximums. It's an opportunity that many manufacturers don't know they have.

If your business falls under NAICS Code Sectors 31, 32, or 33, you may be eligible to take advantage of this financing structure.

At GLCF, we're here to help you understand your options and put this opportunity to work for your business. Reach out to our team today to learn more about how we can help you access the capital you need to grow.
