Attention Real Estate Agents- Want to Grow Your VA Business? Start Here.

The VA home loan remains one of the most powerful benefits available to those who have served, yet many Veterans still struggle to find real estate professionals who understand how to confidently guide them through the process.

The agents who build a strong reputation in the Veteran community tend to focus on three key areas:

1. Education

VA loans are different. Understanding eligibility, entitlement, appraisals, funding fees, assumptions, and common misconceptions helps create a smoother experience for Veteran clients and stronger outcomes at the closing table.

2. Relationships

Veterans are more than a market segment. They are a community. The most successful agents invest time building genuine relationships with Veteran organizations, military families, and local community partners.

3. Consistent Value

The best marketing isn’t marketing at all. It’s education. Answering common questions, sharing resources, and helping Veterans understand their benefits positions you as a trusted resource long before they decide to buy or sell.

When education, relationships, and service come together, referrals follow naturally.

At Continuing Mission Mortgage, we’re passionate about helping Realtors better understand the VA home loan and the military community. Whether you’re new to VA transactions or looking to grow your Veteran business, we’re always happy to share resources, training, and strategies that can help.

🔴 Red Friday — Remember Everyone Deployed
Every Friday we wear red to honor the servicemembers deployed overseas and the families holding it together at home. As a VA lending team, we don't just talk about honoring veterans — we show up for them every single day.

If you or someone you love has served, the VA home loan benefit is one of the most powerful financial tools you've earned:
✅ No down payment required
✅ No private mortgage insurance
✅ Competitive rates
You served. You earned it. Let us help you use it.
👇 Drop a ❤️ if you're wearing red today, and share this with a veteran or military family who deserves to know what they've earned.
📲 DM for your free VA loan consultation — zero pressure, zero obligation.

Today we celebrate the men and women who raised their right hand and swore an oath, understanding that service could require everything, up to and including their own life.

Armed Forces Day is about honoring those currently serving and recognizing the weight of that commitment. Behind every uniform is a person who chose something bigger than themselves, long deployments, missed holidays, uncertainty, sacrifice, and a willingness to stand in the gap for others.

To those serving in every branch, and to the families who serve beside them, thank you.

We see you. We appreciate you. 🇺🇸

Thank you!

In conjunction with Mental Health Awareness Month, we wanted to do something different.

We talk about awareness a lot. At this point, most people are aware mental health matters.

The question is… now what?

How do we recognize when someone is struggling behind the smile?
How do we respond when someone is overloaded, shutting down, angry, withdrawn, or quietly drowning?
How do we lead better in high-pressure environments where people are carrying more than we realize?

Awareness is important. But awareness without action changes nothing.

That’s why the Michael Wayne Hanks Legacy Foundation, sponsored by West Michigan Mortgage
and Continuing Mission Mortgage
, is hosting a FREE 2-hour CE class:

The Things We Carry:

Recognizing Distress, Building Trust, and Leading Through Overload
📍 GRAR
📅 May 18
⏰ 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
✅ 2 Hours CE Credit
🧀 Charcuterie board, light snacks & beverages provided

This class is deeply personal to me.

Over the last 20 years working alongside veterans, military families, Gold Star families, and people navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives, I’ve learned that connection saves lives. Not perfect words. Not motivational slogans. Human connection. Trust. Knowing how to respond when someone needs support instead of looking away because we feel uncomfortable.

This course focuses on:
• Recognizing signs of stress and overload
• Building trust through communication
• Veteran and military culture awareness
• De-escalation and difficult conversations
• Professional boundaries and crisis response awareness
• Leading better in high-pressure environments

This is practical, real-world communication and leadership training for people who work with humans every day.

I would genuinely love to see this room full.

Before we ever understood the meaning of home…
we knew the feeling of it.

Safety. Comfort. Sacrifice. Strength.
A mother’s love is the first home we ever know.

This Mother’s Day, we’re honoring the women who built homes long before there were walls around them. The moms who stayed up late worrying, showed up when nobody noticed, carried more than they ever talked about, and somehow still made life feel safe in the middle of chaos.

To the military moms, the single moms, the grieving moms, the bonus moms, the grandmas raising babies again, and the mothers who continue to hold families together through sheer love and grit… we see you.

Thank you for being the foundation so many of us were built on.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Continuing Mission Mortgage. 💙

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and we are bringing a really important training to GRAR on May 18th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.

The training is called The Things We Carry: Recognizing Distress, Building Trust, and Leading Through Overload.

In real estate and mortgage, we work with people during some of the most stressful seasons of their lives. Buying a home, selling a home, moving, divorce, financial stress, family changes, uncertainty… a lot of people are carrying more than we realize.

This training is about learning how to recognize signs of distress, communicate in a way that builds trust, and respond better when someone may be overwhelmed or struggling.

We will talk about what PTSD, stress, and overload can look like in real life, how to ask hard questions directly and responsibly, and how to use a simple crisis response framework when it matters.

The line that really stands out to me is this:

Awareness alone does not stop su***de. Connection does.

This is ideal for real estate professionals, mortgage professionals, industry leaders, and honestly anyone who works closely with people during high stress life transitions.

Would love to see a great turnout for this.

For many Veterans, buying a home is more than a purchase.

It is about stability, family, and having a place that truly feels like yours after everything you have worked for.

At Continuing Mission Mortgage, we are helping eligible homebuyers take advantage of our FREE 1-0 buydown on purchases, giving you a lower rate for the first year of your mortgage.

Think of it like getting tomorrow’s rates today.

That lower first-year payment can help create a smoother transition into homeownership, while still giving you the confidence of working with a team that understands VA loans, military families, and the importance of moving quickly when the right home comes along.

And speed matters. Our average turn time is just 12.4 days.

If you are a Veteran thinking about buying, send us a message and let’s see what your path home could look like!
