Courtney we are so proud of you. You deserve this award for tirelessly dedication to your students.
Congratulations to our November Teacher of the Month, Courtney Quinn, a teacher at Charlotte Upper Elementary .
To quote her nominator, "Courtney has literally taught nearly every grade level. With her special ed certificate she started in the high school. With her science certificate she was moved to middle school science. About 5 years ago she decided to switch to 4th grade. When Covid hit she worked hard to make sure her kids didn’t fall behind and even delivered materials to student homes. Because of her connection and commitment to her Covid class she decided the kids need her more than the 4th grade. The following year she moved up to 5th grade to stay with her “kids” because they just needed that stability. Then the following year she moved to 6th grade to stay with them. Now moving classrooms is not fun. Moving every year is even less fun but for her it’s worth it. Not to mention during the last 1 1/2 years her mother was diagnosed and passed away from pancreatic cancer, her son graduated high school, her daughter finished undergrad and started grad school, and she was also coaching volleyball and softball. She is the current 8th grade volleyball coach and she has been such a positive role model for her team. Not only has she impacted the mental health and well being of her students but she’s consistently raised test scores and is a highly effective educator. She gives back to the community in a variety of ways showing up to support former students in their endeavors and just being and overall positive person. She is not one to ask for attention or recognition but she is most deserving of this honor."
On behalf of House District 76, congratulations again on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for all that you do for our community.
