I Just have to give a shout out to all of the Independent Insurance Agents in our area.
In my conversations with insureds either coming or going from our agency or simply shopping for better rates the feedback that I'm hearing is truly amazing and shows what consummate professionals we have here in our area.

What prompted me to write this?

1. Not every insurance policy is the same. In fact there's a huge difference on roof coverage right now. If you switch companies you could be losing 10's of thousands of dollars in coverage so you have to shop carefully and work with someone who is knowledgeable and honest. There are many polices that I could have written for potential clients but I encouraged them to keep their coverage because of this particular issue.

The feed back that I'm getting from my clients who have shopped rates is that they are being told the same thing from the agents who they've spoken to.
These other agents, just like me, are losing money when they tell you to stay where you're at and it's because they're doing the right thing by people. It's simply good honest business!

2. Not writing a home policy when there's a chance of cancellation.
We could simply submit every application for clients if we wanted. But through a conversation when we feel that there's possibly an issue that the insurance company may have it's much better to either address this potential issue with our clients up front or to have them keep their current policy.
IF an agent is not careful then ultimately the clients could be left without coverage and could be severely financially impacted or they could be forced into a high risk insurance market where they lose so much coverage.
There are countless times where I have identified this issue and told clients to stay where they're at rather than switching to me.
Other local agents are doing the same exact thing. This is not something that we absolutely have to do. It's simply good accurate honest business practices.

Insurance companies rate very heavily based on zip code. If one area is not performing well from a claims standpoint our companies will adjust local rates. When you file a claim you are truly borrowing from your neighbors.

The impact that our fabulous group of professionals has on your pocketbook will never be truly quantified but rest assured that theses guys and gals locally are doing the right stuff and ultimately saving our communities money.
