I’ve been reviewing a lot of homeowners policies lately, and one thing I keep seeing surprises people…

Many policies have a 1% or 2% wind/hail deductible.

The problem? Most homeowners have no idea it’s there.

For example, if your home is insured for $400,000 and you have a 2% wind deductible, you could be responsible for the first $8,000 of a wind or hail claim before your insurance pays anything.

After a major storm is a terrible time to discover that.

I’m not saying these deductibles are always bad. In some situations they make sense. But I do believe homeowners should understand exactly what they’re agreeing to and what their out-of-pocket cost could be after a loss.

Do you know if your homeowners policy has a separate wind or hail deductible?

If you’re not sure, I’d be happy to help you find out.

Life insurance is never cheaper for you than it is right now. If you’re waiting. You are waiting to pay more…………

🏡🚗👶💍 Life changes fast… your insurance should keep up.

Getting married.
Buying a home.
A teenage driver.
A new vehicle.
Having a baby.
Starting a business.

These are all good times to review your coverage and premiums — not just at renewal.

The goal isn’t just cheaper insurance. It’s making sure your policy fits YOUR life without overpaying for coverage you may not need.

If it’s been a while since you’ve reviewed everything, it may be worth another look.

A lot of people reach out to me thinking it’s just about saving 💰💵💰💵💰💵💰💵💰on insurance.

And honestly… a lot of the time, they do end up saving.

But that’s not really the point.

The bigger thing is making sure the coverage actually makes sense—because I see a lot of policies where the numbers look fine… until you really break them down.

Saving money is great.

But knowing you’re actually covered the right way if something happens? That’s what matters long-term.

Curious—

When was the last time someone actually explained your coverage to you, not just gave you a price?

WATER WATER WATER!!!!

We love our water here in Michigan, but it is causing many Michiganders headaches right now. Hoping everyone gets through this water logged spring safely and recovers quickly.

If you have questions about water backup coverage, flood insurance options, or the difference between the two, get in touch with us.

Most people don’t avoid life insurance on purpose…
they just keep putting off learning more about it.

I’m curious — what’s been the biggest reason for you?

• “I already have it through work”
• “I assume it’s expensive”
• “I haven’t had time to look into it”
• “I don’t really understand how it works”
• “I just haven’t gotten around to it yet”

No judgment at all — honestly, this is one of those things almost everyone delays.

Drop your reason below (or message me if you’d rather keep it private). I’m working on putting together some simple, no-pressure info based on what people actually want to know.

Spring will be here before we know it, and a lot of people around the lake are starting to think about getting docks, lifts, and boats back in the water.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that lake homes are a little different when it comes to insurance.

Things like:
• Docks and boat lifts
• Seawalls
• Boat liability
• Guests and lake activity around your property

aren’t always covered the way people assume they are on a standard homeowners policy.

Michigan Farm Bureau actually has special policies designed for lakefront properties, and sometimes there are coverage differences people don’t realize until we review it together.

If you live on the lake and ever want a second set of eyes on your coverage, I’m always happy to take a look and answer questions. No pressure — just making sure everything lines up with how you actually use your property.
