My crop insurance career began in 1993 when I acquired my Crop Hail License and began working on crop insurance while working at Farm Credit Services. In 1996, I took on the role of Insurance Specialist at FCS and focused entirely on crop insurance. I traveled and worked in several counties as a specialist. In 1997, I acquired my Life/Health license and also began working on life insurance product
s, along with my primary focus of crop insurance. While working at FCS, I took on the position of being a Vice President of Insurance for 1 1/2 years and realized that my passion is helping people and working directly with the farmers so I went back to an Insurance Specialist role. Over the past 20 years, I have seen many changes in the crop insurance program. We went from having 3 levels of coverage and one plan of insurance, to a Catastrophic (CAT) plan, and then several levels of coverage, adding the revenue plans of coverage, and now we have several unit structures and several add-on options to increase and/or protect your yield. My experience with all the different plans, options, and products, along with my extensive experience working on claims and working with the insurance companies and adjusting staff is a benefit to my customers. In January 2016, I chose to own my own business and decided to make the move to Farmers Union Insurance. I am now employed as an owner/agent of my own agency. My focus continues to be crop/hail insurance, along with the Health & Life Products.
